LIVE BACCARAT ONLINE
Baccarat is one of the older casino games, but is still very much one of the most popular today. There are a few variations available at many online casinos, all of which follow the traditional rules. However, more recently Live Baccarat has also become available, using cutting edge technology to take digital versions to the next level.
The High Roller Casino team are all big fans of the game, so we took a look at what was on offer in the Live dealer genre online.
WHY GO LIVE?
For the most part, Live casinos are much like the regular versions of online casino games. Except, of course, for the addition of a human dealer. Live dealer casinos are essentially a video feed of a professional croupier, creating the most intimate, authentic experience possible. Award winning companies like Playtech, NetEnt and Evolution provide these feeds, using specifically built broadcast studios. Evolution Baccarat is noted by many as being the best version of the game online. But why go through all this trouble?
Many players prefer Live casinos simply as a matter of taste. Playing live is actually significantly slower in pace than RNG games, but this doesn’t concern those who want a human croupier. It’s all about immersion, authenticity, and enjoying a cutting-edge gaming experience.
PLAYING ON MOBILE
Highroller casino players tend to gamble a lot on their mobile devices, and the fact that Live Baccarat is mobile compatible is a major plus. Yes, despite being cutting edge, Live versions of games are perfectly functional on mobile devices. All that is required is a stable internet connection, and the games will function as expected. Given that a video feed is being transmitted in real time, the connection must be fast and reliable.
BACCARAT RULES
Baccarat is very similar to Blackjack, but with a few key differences.
Live Baccarat, of course, follows the traditional rules. First and foremost, the wagering is based around which hand, the Banker or Player, will be closer to 9. But, in this case it is possible to bet on the Banker’s hand, or on a draw, as opposed to Blackjack where the outcome is purely based on the player’s hand.
10s and face cards count as 0, while all other cards are worth their pip value. Cards are dealt, and the hand closest to 9 will be declared the winner. If a hand exceeds a value of 10, 10 is subtracted from the total value. For example, an 8 and a 5 would equal 3, and not 13.
However, there are a few intricacies to take note of. The bank hand has a 1.24% higher chance of winning, but bets that win will have to pay a 5% commission to the house. Regardless, both these wagers pay out at odds of 1 to 1. Bets on a draw pay out at 8 to 1 but are less likely to occur.
Either way, although some have an advanced Baccarat strategy, all that is required is for a bet to be placed on the Player, Banker, or that the game will end in a
BACCARAT VARIATIONS
Live Baccarat always follows the traditional rules, but there are a few variations available to take note of.
Mini-Baccarat is based around a single croupier acting as both the Banker and Player, as opposed to a single dealer attending to every player. This Mini version is often played at Live Baccarat casinos, given that it allows for a much more economic setup.
Chemin de Fer, a French version, is unusual in that it allows each player at the table to take a turn acting as the dealer. It is not offered at Live casinos for obvious reasons.
Punto Bunco is a popular variation, using up to 8 decks. It allows up to 14 players to be involved. The croupier handles all the shuffling and dealing.
Baccarat Banque simply allows a single player to act as the dealer for an entire game.
