New Gonzo’s Quest Megaways Slot Goes Live

Gonzo’s Quest Megaways has now finally been revealed, and the best way to describe it is like the original, but better. It perhaps isn’t the total remake that some were expecting but given that the original slot is still a firm favourite, the simple addition of the Megaways formula is all that was really needed to add a dash of extra appeal.
A Dash Of Spice
It should first be noted that it wasn’t actually NetEnt themselves that gave birth to the slot. It was Red Tiger Gaming, a subsidiary of the mega-corporation. Either way, a clear amount of effort went into the work, bringing the fan favourite forward into a new era.
At first glance, Gonzo’s Quest Megaways appears almost entirely unchanged. The same lovable mascot is visible to the left of the grid, sporting his recognisable beard and quirky attitude. As most already know, the character is based on real Spanish explorer Gonzalo Pizarro y Alonso, who famously set off on a mission to find the famed El Dorado. He never did find it, of course, but at least has a second shot at it, even if it is in the form of a slot.
Beyond the largely unchanged, but still impressive graphics, is the obvious addition of the Megaways system; but what exactly does this add?
More Ways To Win
There are a stunning 117,649 possible ways to win in the 6 reel Gonzo’s Quest Megaways, which is certainly nothing to take lightly. Add to this the growing multiplier system, 96% RTP, and a possible maximum payout of 21,000x, and you have all the ingredients for a legendary experience.
To look at it another way, although on the surface of the slot is still extremely reminiscent of the original, the flow and feel is noticeably different. There is certainly more than enough here to allow fans of the first Gonzo’s Quest to give it another shot, and those who have never even heard of Gonzo will be rewarded for their curiosity.
As it turns out, the same but better is a winning recipe.
